The arts are essential to understand and appreciate life and things around us.
Creative Problem Solving
Every decision we make is the result of some challenge or question. To meet
each challenge and creatively make solutions allows us to accept change more
readily. Programs in creative problem solving are not only fun and educational,
they are a preparation for life after school.
Foreign Language / Language skills
Skills in foreign languages exposes us to other cultures as well as allowing us
to communicate with others outside our geographic area. Other language skills
offer the ability to communicate locally as well as globally.
Libraries
It is important that we maintain our lending libraries. Not all information is
on the Internet.
Math / Science
Math and science skill are central to our understanding of the evolving world
around us. Logic skills and understanding help our children to meet that world
on their own terms.
Professional Development
Professional development for our faculty opens the doors for a collegial sharing
of innovative ideas,. Increased communication and understanding allows the
faculty to create the educational opportunities needed to make our schools
evolve.
Student Community Service
Community service furthers an understanding of others. Programs in this area
establish a stronger bond between all of us in our community making us stronger
and more vital.
Technology
The almost annual evolution of technology dictates that we, as a community,
structure a program which constantly updates our educational technology. A
constant infusion of new hardware ensures a steady upgrade which avoids "group
purchase obsolescence."
